Cornelius Plantinga
Cornelius Plantinga became President of Calvin Theological Seminary at the beginning of the 2003/04 academic year. Prior to this he served as the first Dean of the Chapel at Calvin College, and prior to that as professor of theology at Calvin Theological Seminary.
Dr. Plantinga came to our attention because of his recent book, Engaging God's World: A Christian Vision of Faith, Learning, and Living (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 2002). Plantinga was commissioned by Calvin College during his time as Dean of the Chapel to write this book as an introduction for all the college students regarding the goals Calvin College has for their education. We find the phrase "engaging God's world" a particularly salient idea and directly relevant to the issues of concern for this conference.
